BRANDT - John “Gus” Brandt passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.  He was born in Owosso, MI June 13, 1968.  
Gus held a masters degree in business administration from Michigan State University.  He was the proud owner of Tri-Nett Communications and several small businesses in both Michigan and Florida.  He had a strong belief in the growth of his community being “locally owned, locally operated and putting 100% into the community.”
After winning a battle with Lymphoma, Gus and Cassandra moved to Kissimmee FL to start anew.  They announced the wonderful news of a new child to arrive in August 2010, but he unfortunately was diagnosed with leukemia in January 2010.  Gus battled this new cancer twice, going into remission the latest in July.  He passed peacefully, surrounded by love with his wife, Cassandra and her family by his side.Gus leaves his loving wife, Cassandra “Sandy”, daughter Madison Marie Canter of Rittman, OH, sons Paul Michael and Jacob Gustoff Brandt and his daughter he will only watch over from heaven, Samantha Lynn Brandt born on July 20, 2010.
He is survived by his mother Garnett Brandt, sisters Cindy and Ann, brothers Bill and Dave all of Owosso, MI.  In-laws Michael and Barbara Rasik of Swanton, OH, brother-in-laws SPC. Daniel (Genevieve) Rasik of LA and Christopher Rasik of Swanton, OH.  He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Henry Brandt and grandparents.
Cremation was handled by Osceola Memory Gardens of Kissimmee, FL and a memorial service will be planned at a later date in Ohio. www.osceolamemgds.com

 

DrouinRaymonDROUIN - Raymond Roland Drouin, January 1, 1928 to July 16, 2010.  Raymond was born and raised in Willimantic, CT. He retired from the University of Connecticut in 1978 which was followed by the relocation to St. Cloud, Florida where he resided for 32 years. Raymond passed away with family at his side.
He is survived by 9 children, 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and two brothers.
Funeral and burial will take place in Connecticut. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

 

ZUKOS - Martha Ann Zukos, 57, of Kissimmee, FL, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010. Martha was born on January 2, 1953, to the late William “Bud” Lee and Mattie Jane Holder Acklen.
She was a Management Analyst in the Logistics and Industrial Operations Group for NAVAIR and worked for the military for 30 years as a civilian employee. Martha loved to garden, shop, travel and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband William E. Zukos, her daughters Diana L. David and Heidi M. Zukos, grandchildren, Presley and Parker David, brother, James Acklen of Broken Bow, OK, sisters, Verna Dowd of Dequeen, Arkansas, Margie Spoon of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Emma Perez of Chicago, IL, Mary Alice Chamberlin of Mims, Florida and Barbara Marcantel of Louisiana.
No memorial service will be held, per Martha’s request. Her memory will live on in us forever. Arrangements entrusted to Grissom Funeral Home & Crematory, 407-847-3131. www.grissomfh.com
