Local golfers wrapped up their seasons Monday and Tuesday at regional tournaments.

The Osceola and St. Cloud girls teams competed at the 2A Region 6 tournament Monday at Magnolia Plantation Golf Club in Lake Mary.

Jensen Beach won the regional title while Lake Mary was the runner-up.

The top two teams advance to the state tournament.

Liberty’s Alice Munn, competing as an individual, shot 89 to lead the local golfers.

Osceola’s scorers were: Kiera Koroitamudu (97), Karen Handlan (101), Charlie Muzeka (103) and Sydney Mason (119). Kristie Brewer was Osceola’s fifth golfer.

Scoring for St. Cloud: Shelby Kessler (95), Erica Dukes (96), Lacey Makinson (116) and Kelly Johnson (116).

Celebration’s Natalie Benetti (107) and Sarah Stellwag (121) played as individuals.

Osceola Coach Ray Lackey said tight fairways and 15 water holes, plus a late morning breeze, made scoring difficult. One exception was tournament medalist Alessandra Kutz, of Lake Mary, who shot 65.

At the boys regional Tuesday at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links, Vero Beach won the championship and Spruce Creek finished second.

The Harmony boys and St. Cloud’s Caleb Sibley (83) competed, but did not qualify for the state tournament next week at Howey-in-the-Hills.

Harmony’s scores: Tyler Howes (77), Tyler Bennett (84), Chad Williams (87), Blaine Janke (90) and Bryce Pace (106).
