If director Darren Bousman acts like a crazy man by the time The Devil’s Carnival comes to Orlando Thursday, it really shouldn’t be much of a surprise.

The one-time Orlando resident and Full Sail University graduate will have been on the road non-stop for more than two weeks driving cross-country from California by the time he arrives for the Orlando screening of the experimental film.

“Doing this kind thing is so complicated,” Bousman said a few weeks ago, as he was about to begin the daily grind for The Devil’s Carnival, a sort of Rocky Horror Picture Show for the 21st century.

“It is intense,” Bousman said of the endeavor which amounts to having 37 separate premiers for the film which is described as a kind rock-horror-opera and not your typical night at the movies.

Bousman describes the whoe experience as simply “out of the box” not following the usual Hollywood rules.

“People are supposed to sit and be quiet at the movies,” he said. “We want people to make noise.”

Each screening includes the film, plus live interaction with at least one cast member from the film.

The Devil’s Carnival features features twelve original songs and stars Victoriandustrial rocker Emilie Autumn, Dayton Callie (Sons Of Anarchy, Deadwood), M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan (of the Grammy-award winning, cult metal giants Slipknot), Briana Evigan (Step Up 2), Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints), Maggie “Captain Maggot” Lally and The Blessed Contessa (of The Bloody Crumpets), J. LaRose (Insidious), Jessica Lowndes (90210), Mighty Mike (of Mini Kiss), internet star Hannah Minx, Ivan Moody (of the chart-topping heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Ogre (of the legendary industrial band Skinny Puppy), Marc Senter (The Lost), Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Alexa Vega (Spy Kids), and Terrance Zdunich.

Florida dates for the film are 4/19 – Orlando, FL @ The Premiere Cinema 14 (at Fashion Square Mall).

4/20 – Tampa, FL @ The Tampa Pitcher Show.
