The city of Kissimmee Fire Department hosted a swearing-in ceremony for two employees during the City Commission meeting May 15. Chief Robert King administered the oath.

Jeremy Christ’s promotion to the position of fire lieutenant was made effective on May 3, following the retirement of Lt. Wayne Seley.

Daniel Dodd was promoted to the position of fire engineer, effective on May 5. This opportunity was created by the vacancy of Jeremy Christ’s previous position.

Mayor Jim Swan presented Seley with the city’s retirement watch.

King also presented Seley with a special retirement gift on behalf of the fire department to acknowledge his 31 years of service to the community.

“It is rare for an individual to devote as many years to one agency for as long as Wayne has been with the city. His hard work and dedication to the fire service will be sorely missed,” said King.
