Orlando Predators receiver and former Osceola High football star Robert “Bobby” Sippio Jr. was denied bail Saturday after being arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery with a firearm, kidnapping and aggravated battery.

Sippio, 31, and an accomplice, Santana Coats, 30, were booked into the Osceola County Jail Friday after they allegedly took a victim to a deserted area near Oren Brown Road in Kissimmee late Thursday, beat him, and threatened to kill him, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the arrest warrant, Sippio and Coats picked up Sergio Moore, 27, around 11 p.m. Friday from his apartment off Concord Landing in Orlando, where Sippio also lives. Sippio and Moore have known each other for four years, detectives said, and Moore had met Coats numerous times through Sippio.
The trio drove in Sippio’s dark blue Chrysler 300 to an area near Poinciana Boulevard and Oren Brown Road where Sippio allegedly pulled a gun from the center console and handed it to Coats. Moore attempted to exit the car through the back door and the window but was unable to open either due to the child locks.
Once Sippio drove the trio through a gate with a “No Trespassing” sign and parked by a creek, Sippio and Coats allegedly took Moore’s cell phone and proceeded to hit him with the gun in the back of the head, kick and punch him. Coats allegedly pointed the gun at Moore and threatened to kill him.
Moore told detectives he heard “two clicks” and thought it sounded like Coats had pulled the trigger twice.
When the gun didn’t go off, Moore got up and started running. Sippio chased him and told Moore to get back in the car when they heard police sirens.
Once in the car, Moore told detectives he purposely wiped blood from his injuries on the inside of the vehicle to leave evidence in case Sippio and Coats killed him.
Sippio allegedly threatened to kill Moore and told him “the streets had respect” for him according to reports.
Moore was treated for lacerations to the top of his head and his left cheek, a scraped a swollen left wrist and a broken nose at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He required stitches to close the wounds to his head, according to the arrest warrant.
Detectives brought Coats and Sippio in for questioning, but neither cooperated with the investigation, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain said.
Troubled football star
In 1999, Sippio was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, which was later dropped, according to court records. Additionally, in 2001, he was arrested and charged with battery and criminal mischief. The battery charge was dropped; however;Sippio was given one year probation for the second charge.
Predators Coach Bret Munsey said he did not know of Sippio’s most recent arrest after the team lost to the Jacksonville Sharks Friday and would not comment.  The team cut Sippio early Saturday morning, claiming that he has not been practicing with the team for the past three weeks because of conduct issues.
Sippio rejoined the Predators a month into the current season after recuperating from an injury.
He was the quarterback for the Osceola Kowboys when they won the 1998 Class 5A state championship. He played football at Western Kentucky University, where he was an All-American defensive back.
Sippio has been a professional player for several Arena League teams over the past decade. He won an Arena Football League championship in 2006 with the Chicago Rush.
Sippio also played for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs as a receiver and special teams player in 2007. He joined the Predators two seasons ago and became one of the team’s leading receivers.
