A Kissimmee man was killed in an Osceola County crash Sunday after the car he was riding in crashed into a tree.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, at about 10:55 p.m., Alfonso Castaneda, 18, of Kissimmee, was driving a 2001 Toyota Celica eastbound on Buenaventura Boulevard approaching Wagon Circle. For unknown reasons, the car lost traction and traveled off to the right where it struck a tree, reports said.

There were two passengers from Kissimmee in the car. Manual Jesus Cordova, 21, of Kissimmee, was pronounced dead at the Osceola Regional Medical Center. A second passenger, Joan Manual Cordova, 19, and Castaneda were taken to the medical center with minor injuries.

 

It was unknown if Jesus Cordova was wearing a seat belt, reports said. Manual Cordova and Castaneda were both wearing seat belts.
