The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office made 79 arrests last week in a special operation to reduce crime in the area.

On June 7 and 8, Sheriff's Office deputies conducted Operation Zero Tolerance, which resulted in 79 arrests and 69 citations. Deputies from all areas of the agency including aggressive driving, agriculture/marine, aviation, communications, criminal investigations, community response teams east and west, economic crimes, evidence, forensics, tourist policing, motors, K-9, narcotics enforcement team, reserves, robbery, traffic and warrants worked all areas of the county.

Based on the Sheriff’s Office community-oriented policing mission, the goal was to reduce crime in these areas, while gathering valuable intelligence, Sheriff’s Office officials said.

This was the 23rd time the Sheriff's Office conducted such a large-scale operation involving almost all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office. The result of all 23 operations has been 1,903 arrests and 5,545 citations issued.
