The Florida Commission on Ethics reported in a press release Wednesday that it found no probable cause to believe that Osceola County School Board member Cindy Hartig misused her position by attempting to intimidate construction personnel for the benefit of her own company.

The commission found no evidence was found linking Hartig to using her board position to defeat the award of a contract to a company that orginally won the bid, or that she misused her position to cancel a contract with an architecture firm because of the firm's donations to a former school board member's campaign.

The violation stemmed from a bid protest filed by Bedrock Industries which alleged Hartig had influenced the vote to have them replaced by another company in an email to then-superintendent Michael Grego about former School Board member John McKay's involvement with the firm.
