The Osceola County School Board Tuesday appointed Karen “Casey” Corbett as principal of Partin Settlement Elementary, after the former principal was arrested June 15 on drug charges.
Corbett has been in the Osceola School District since 1995. During her career, she has held the following positions: teacher at St. Cloud High  from 1995-2003; teacher at Narcoossee Community School from 2003-05; middle school dean at Narcoossee Community School from 2005-06; and Learning Resource Specialist at Narcoossee Community School from 2006-09.
She was the assistant principal at Partin Settlement Elementary since 2009.  
Corbett received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Former principal David Groover was charged June 15 with delivery of methamphetamine, delivery of GHB-controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of GHB-controlled substance, possession of controlled substance, possession of cannabis under 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He entered his resignation Monday.
