The following classes are being offered by Osceola County Extension Services and are free unless stated otherwise:

• From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 9-13, Moola Venture Money Camp 2012 for ages 14 – 18 at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. Moola Venture is a five-day money camp designed to teach 14 to 18 year old youth vital financial management skills.  Registration deadline is June 29.

There is a $25 registration fee.

•  From 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, Taking Control of Your Money, at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. • From 6 to 8 p.m.  Wednesday, July 11, Preparing for Hurricane Season, at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. This program addresses how to prepare for the season, what to include in an emergency kit, how to react during the phases of a storm and cleaning up after a storm. Registration is required. • From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, Intro to Beekeeping, at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. Taught by a backyard beekeeper, this seminar offers an overview of how to acquire your own bee colony: what tools and supplies are needed, handling bees, determining bee colony health and treatment, harvesting honey and more. It is recommended that participants attend a “Beekeeping: is it for me?” presentation prior to this seminar. Participants receive the 244-page “Storey’s Guide to Keeping Honey Bees. • From 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, Using Your Sprinkler System Efficiently, at Toho Water Authority, 951 Martin Luther King Blvd., Kissimmee. Learn to save on your water bill, operate your irrigation controller, keep your landscape healthy and check your system for leaks. Registration is required.  Call 407-944-5000.

• From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, Taking Control of Your Money, at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. • From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, Save Your Home: Prevent Foreclosure at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. This class addresses how to save your home from foreclosure through better money management, communication with your lender and identifying other mortgage payment/foreclosure prevention options. • From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, Fall Vegetable Gardening, Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee. Learn the basics of growing vegetables in Florida, different vegetable seasons, common pests and diseases that may attack your crops. Registration is required. Call 321-697-3000.

• From 6 to 9 p.m.  Tuesdays, Aug. 7, 14, 21, and 28, A Home of Your Own in English and Spanish, at Extension Services, Osceola Heritage Park, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee.

This class addresses the ins and outs of buying/building a home. Participants will learn how to prepare financially, select a home, negotiate price, review contract and what to expect at closing.
