The city of St. Cloud Parks and Recreation Department provides a variety of recreational programs and activities year-round. Besides summer camp, other events scheduled for the month of July include:

 

Swimming Lessons – Session 10 sign-ups are scheduled for July 2 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center (3001 17th Street).

The two-week Session 10 swim lessons will run July 9-20 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center (3001 17th Street).

Session 11 sign-ups will be July 14, from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., and July 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Civic Center.

The two-week Session 11 swim lessons will run July 23 to Aug. 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. Session 12 sign-ups will be July 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and July 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Civic Center.

Thirty-minute classes are $35 for residents/$45 for non-residents and 60-minute classes are $45 for residents/$55 for non-residents.

Lifeguard Classes: Apprentice lifeguard classes for ages 11 and up are scheduled for July 9-20 and July 23-Aug. 3 from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. Cost for each class is $75 for Osceola County residents/$85 for non-residents.

A lifeguard class is set for July 23-27 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. Cost is $225. Applicants must pass a swim test prior to the start of the class. Swim test dates are July 17 and July 19 at 6:30 p.m. and July 21 at 1 p.m. Only one swim test must be passed.

Marina Building Banquet Hall Open House: The open house will be July 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. and July 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the all located at 1104 Lakeshore Blvd., second floor. There is an interactive multimedia kiosk on the first floor’s lobby area.

Movie at the Lakefront: The movie “Mirror Mirror” will be shown July 13 at sunset at Lakefront Park (1104 Lakeshore Blvd.) A family movie is shown every month free to the community on a giant inflatable movie screen.

Dive-In Movie: The movie “Rookie of the Year” will be shown on July 21 at sunset at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. Cost is $1 per person.

RAYS Recreational Swim Team: This program emphasizes good sportsmanship while participating in recreational swimming and helps build confidence and team skills. The program runs July 30 to Aug. 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. Cost is $40 for Osceola County residents and $50 for non-residents for the four weeks. Registration must be completed at least one week prior to the start date.
