The Osceola County Historic Courthouse will set the backdrop for the filming of the independent film with the working title of “An Act Of God.”

The film is a comedy written and directed by Stewart Schill, in association with Valencia Motion Pictures, a department of Valencia College. The production will take place throughout Central Florida, and includes filming in Osceola County until Saturday.

The producers are filming various scenes in and around the Osceola County Historic Courthouse. The set will be closed to the public. A portion of West Bryant Street will be closed Saturday from 7 a.m. to  5 p.m.

“This film will showcase a significant historic landmark located in the heart of our community. Osceola County has much to offer the film industry with its fast track permitting process and rich history,” said County Commission Chair John Quiñones.

Dirty Martini Productions and Valencia Motion Pictures estimate the film’s local economic impact is $20,000. The courthouse was selected for its pristine beauty according to a county press release.

Orlando Film Commissioner Sheena Fowler said, “Osceola County has a long string of success with productions. Having Osceola County as part of our location base helps make Metro Orlando the popular filming destination that it’s become today.”
