Too many chefs can never spoil the broth at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.

The Orlando culinary school had a 10th anniversary celebration event  last week featuring 17 chefs from all of the Le Cordon schools in the U.S.

Invited guests attended a reception to mark the anniversary which included food and wine prepared by the students.

 

Among those attending the festivities were Joe Hardiman, president of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Edward Leonard, Vice President of Culinary Education/Corporate Chef of the Le Cordon Bleu special guests Bryan Frick-Corporate Chef at Nestle Professional, Louis Perrotte- CEC, AAC, Continental Director of the Americas for the World Association of Chefs Society (WACS);  Roger Newell-American Culinary Federation Treasurer, Chef William Mather and Corporate Executives Kim Stanley and Dan Hurdle.

“All of the students, faculty and staff of our college are thrilled to be celebrating 10 years of outstanding culinary arts education,” said Joe Hardiman, president of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. “The Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando has become a nationally recognized leader in culinary arts education.  We look forward to many more years of being an integral part of the tourism and hospitality industry, not only in Central Florida, but worldwide.”

The public is invited to dine at Technique, the  culinary school restaurant.  The restaurant is open daily and features daily specials as well as soups and salads. Le Cordon Bleu is located at 8511 Commodity Circle. For more information call 407-313-8792.

The Italian chophouse in Orlando also is a great place to listen to live entertainment as well as enjoy a meal.

Located at 7488 Sand Lake Road, live entertainment is featured most nights. Some area performers are regulars at the restaurant.

“Tim Franklin has graced our lounge for nearly four years, bringing his own talent along with ensembles of the area’s finest including Central Florida’s ‘Lady of Song’ Linda Cole,” said Raul Matias, general manager.  “We are proud to be known as the place to be for great music – and great food.”

Lakeridge Winery

You can get in the fun of stomping on grapes and tasting some wine from theprevious harvest at the Lakeridge Winery, 18th annual Harvest Stomp, Aug. 18-19 in Clermont.

The event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This two-day outdoor festival will feature live music, grape stomping, and award-winning Lakeridge Wines. A $2 donation will be accepted at the gate to benefit the Boys & Girls Club and parking is free for all guests. The first 300 guests to donate at the gate each day will receive a special door prize.
