There won’t be any Jefferson Airplane or naked sliding in the mud, but the Mellow Mushroom’s Shroomstock event tonight (Saturday) will be the closest thing to Woodstock in Orlando.

The pizza bakery will host the one-day festival beginning at 5 p.m. at the restaurant located at 11680 East Colonial Drive.

Events include craft breweries, live music and the Mellow Mushroom Bake Bus.

The restaurant has seating for more than 250, but for the special event will have a fenced off area to increase capacity to up to 750 people. Admission is $5 in advance or $7 at the door.

Schroomstock events include $3 slices of pizza and lots of live music.

The lineup includes Casey Brents at 5 p.m. The live show includes Luna Bellum, The Hip Abduction (from St. Petersburg) and headliners Spiritual Rex, originally from Orlando.

Shroomstock also will feature several craft beers including

Anchor Steam, Terrapin, Holy Mackerel, Bell’s, Orange Blossom Pilsner, Dogfish Head and Abita breweries. Guests can purchase a 12 oz. beer from these featured breweries for only $2 each. And for those looking to learn a thing or two about beer, the Central Florida Homebrewers Association will be demonstrating the art of brewing beer.

Cici’s will offer its endless buffet for just $2.99 all day during the event. The buffet is normally priced at about $5.

Epcot festival

The always very popular Epcot Food & Wine Festival is just about a month away.

This year’s event will feature the New Vegan Marketplace, ‘Florida Local’ Flavors and the Chocolate Experience. The festival is Sept. 28-Nov. 12.
