Adrian Lamar Williams, 33, of Kissimmee, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison Tuesday after the already-convicted felon was found guilty of possession of crack cocaine earlier this month.

According to evidence during the trial, Williams twice sold crack cocaine to an informant working with the Kissimmee Police Department in January 2008.

When detectives executed a search warrant at Williams’ home, at 1310 Robinson Ave., they found him holding a shoebox containing 67.4 grams of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to reports. On the table next to Williams was a loaded firearm and a bag of ammunition.

Williams said he had the firearm for his protection. As a multi-convicted felon, however, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm under federal law. A jury in a federal court also found him guilty of possession of a firearm during the trial that concluded Jan. 13.

Williams' prior felony record from drug distribution subjected him to an enhanced punishment under federal sentencing laws, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida reported.
