Ronald Halk

Halk

Kissimmee police arrested a father accused of locking up his 13-year-old son, who suffers from schizophrenia and other mental disorders, in his bedroom for extended periods on a daily basis.

Ronald M. Halk, 43, was arrested Friday afternoon, charged with false imprisonment, child abuse and domestic violence. According to police reports, Halk installed a sliding door on his son's room and padlocks so the child was not able to leave his room. Halk provided food and water and the child had access to a restroom.

Halk was taken to the Osceola County Jail and held without bond. His son has been placed in a foster home. Halk has sole custody of his son.
