All that anticipation for summer break and now it has begun. School’s been out for a week. Are they bored yet?
Help to expel all that extra energy and learn new skills by attending football and summer sports camp at Poinciana High School. Camp director Michael Timpson is Poinciana High School’s new head football coach and brings with him NFL experience, having been a wide receiver with the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. Timpson is a true athlete, being a seven- time high school track champion, holding a Penn State record 200 Meter and was a semi-finalist in the 1988 Olympic trials.
This is a unique opportunity for campers 7-18 years old. This is a non-contact camp that teaches the fundamentals of football as well as life skills — the importance of discipline and hard work. The football part of the camp teaches stance, footwork and blocking. Also emphasized will be passing, catching, speed and conditioning. The sports part of this camp will include playing a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer and volleyball.
Camp dates are June 21-25, June 28 to July 2, July 5-9, July 12-16, July 19- 23 and July 26- 30. The camp day starts at 8:45 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. The cost is $100 per camper per week. Half day (noon to 3 p.m.) is $50 per camper per week.
Beat those summertime blues. To register for football and summer sports camp, call Coach Timpson at 407-870-4860, Ext. 03783.

Its mission statement reads “Noah’s Ark of Central Florida is committed to empowering individuals who have developmental disabilities by advocating on their behalf and by providing or facilitating meaningful employment, recreational and social opportunities and affordable housing choices.”
The $75 individual or $300 team fee includes golf cart, greens fee, awards and luncheon. Different golf tournament sponsorship is also available.
