Girdner new coach

Troy Girdner, the pitching coach at Harmony and St. Cloud high schools from 2006-10 and a SCHS alum, recently accepted the position of head baseball coach at The Master’s Academy, a Class 2A private school in Oviedo.

While at Osceola High in his junior year, Girdner set the single-season county record for wins.

Drive 4 Harmony

Ford Motor Company and Poffenbaugh Ford are partnering Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to raise up to $6,000 in support of Harmony High School as part of the Drive One 4 UR School program.

Members of the local community will have the opportunity to raise money for Harmony High by test driving a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle. The event takes place at Harmony High School.

Ford and Poffenbaugh will donate $20 to Harmony High for every person from a unique household who test drives a 2011 Taurus, Fusion Hybrid or Sport, Fiesta, Mustang or Lincoln MKT.

Harmony will use the proceeds for the swimming, girls soccer and girls basketball programs. Participants must be age 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. Limit one test drive per household.
