CARTER – Mona Jean (Miller) Carter, age 39, a former resident of Waterville, Maine, died Friday January 25th from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident which also took the lives of her parents.
She was born on May 3, 1968 in Lewiston, the daughter of Charles Jr. and Emelda (Boucher) Miller, was a graduate of Jay High School and furthered her education at University of Southern Maine in Portland where she met her future husband. She married Scott Carter and lived in Waterville before moving to Loxley, AL where she and her husband were raising their 16 year old twin boys Cole and Jacob Carter. She had worked for the Prudential Nichols Real Estate in Baldwin and Mobile, AL counties earning top seller recognition for 2006. She was a very happy and loving girl and was always ready to joke and tease anyone around her, She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her grandmother, Rita Boucher, of St. Cloud, FL, a brother, Dan Miller of Hampden, uncles and aunts Bernard Boucher and his wife Jackie of St. Cloud, FL and Paul Boucher and his wife Claire of Livermore Falls, and Robert Miller of Braintree, MA., Bernice Adams and her husband Will of Jay and Betty Plaisted and her husband George of Jay, nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Henry Boucher and paternal grandparents.

DeSTEFANO – Itha Williams DeStefano, 86, of Shady Spring, WV, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.
Born July 29, 1921, at Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Maria Giuliani Rocchetti.
Mrs. DeStefano was a former resident of St. Cloud, Fla., where she had resided for 24 years and attended the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a former nursing assistant for Dr. George Fordham and a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Mullens. In her leisure she enjoyed cooking and shall be remembered by her friends for her cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Williams; a sister, Eula Sardano; and two brothers, Abraham and Pete Rocchetti.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Linda Williams Nuckols and her husband, Don, of Shady Spring and Gina Dispensa and her husband, Mike, of St. Cloud, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rob Hislop of San Francisco, Calif., and Michael and Anthony Dispensa of St. Cloud; three brothers, Sam Rocchetti and Irene Incordair of Melbourne, Fla., Frank Rocchetti and his wife, Lou, of Crumpler and Mosie Rocchetti and his wife, Rosalie, of Princeton.
Mass of the Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church, Mullens, with Father Jack Reich as celebrant. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell. Friends called 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens, where a prayer service was conducted at 7:30 p.m.

MILLER – Charles H. Miller Jr., age 64, a resident of Andrew Avenue in Benton, Maine, died Friday January 25th from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident which also took the lives of his beloved wife Emelda and daughter Mona Jean Carter. He was born on January 20, 1944 in Weymouth, MA, the son of Charles H. Sr, and Elizabeth (Cummings) Miller and attended school in Braintree, MA. On August 2, 1966 he married Emelda Boucher at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They made their home on Ludden Drive in Jay until 1988 when they moved to Benton, Maine. Charlie worked as an instrument man at International Paper Co. in Jay until 1987 when he went to work for Scott Paper Co. in Winslow from 1988 to 1992 and later transferred to Madison Paper Co. in Madison in 1992 retiring in 2007. He had been a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.
He and his family enjoyed their camp on Canton Lake and riding the jet-ski, snow skiing, playing dominoes and cards and spending time with his children Dan and Mona Jean. They also looked forward to the plays at the Community Little Theater in Auburn.
He is survived by a son, Dan Miller and his wife Amy of
Hampden, a mother-in-law, Rita Boucher of St. Cloud, FL, a son-in-law, Scott Carter of Alabama, five grandchildren, a brother, Robert Miller of Braintree, MA, two brothers-in-law, Bernard Boucher and his wife Jackie of St. Cloud, FL and Paul Boucher and his wife Claire of Livermore Falls, two sisters-in-law, Bernice Adams and her husband Will of Jay and Betty Plaisted and her husband George of Jay. He was predeceased by his parents and father-in-law Henry Boucher.

MILLER – Emelda Miller, age 61, a resident of Andrea Avenue in Benton, Maine, died Friday, January 25th  from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident which also took the lives of her beloved husband Charlie and daughter Mona Jean Carter. She was born on June 9, 1946 in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Henry and Rita (Litalien) Boucher and was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On August 2, 1966 she married Charles H. Miller Jr, of Braintree, Massachusetts at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She and her husband made their home on Ludden Drive in Jay before moving to Benton in 1988. She had worked as a hairdresser in Livermore Falls and Jay and was a representative for Bristol-Myers Co. She also was an officer for the TOPS program and a leader at weight watchers. She had been a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.
She and her family enjoyed their camp on Canton Lake and riding the jet-ski, snow skiing, quilting, playing dominoes, cards and getting together with her close friends. She and Charlie enjoyed traveling and just being with one another and their children, Dan and Mona Jean. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Rita Boucher of St. Cloud, FL, a son, Dan Miller and his wife Amy of Hampden, a son-in-law, Scott Carter of Alabama, five grandchildren, two brothers, Bernard Boucher and his wife Jackie of St. Cloud, FL and Paul Boucher and his wife Claire of Livermore Falls, two sisters, Bernice Adams and her husband Will of Jay and Betty Plaisted and her husband George of Jay.
She was predeceased by her father Henry Boucher.

RICHARDS –  Merlynd “Mert” Richards, 70, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008.  He was born March 17, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan.  Merlynd was
preceded in death by his parents Rev. Alvin D. and Annabell Richards and by his brother Rev. Maynard D. Richards. 
Merlynd is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Greg (Rhonda), Randy (Trish) Richards, daughters Cheri (Eddie) Huff, and Rhonda (Vince) Smith, sister Marilynn Parsons, grandchildren Collin, Nathan, Noel, Jacob, Jordan, Jared, Tyler, Jesse and Amanda. 
Friends may call from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home Kissimmee, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1550 Mill Slough Road, Kissimmee, Florida with Rev. Brian Howard Officiating.

SCHISLER – Magdalen Mattock Schisler, 90, of St. Cloud FL, formerly of Latrobe and Bedford, PA passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008.
Magdalen (Mag) was born Dec. 15, 1917 in Latrobe, PA. The eldest daughter of 8 children of Anna and John A. Mattock. She spent much of her life in Latrobe where she attended public schools and graduated from Greater Latrobe High School.
She was the beloved wife of the late James R. Schisler.
She is survived by her 3 children, Jim Schisler (Jane) of Bedford, PA., Ann Baker (Ken) of Kissimmee, FL, and Susan Longenecker (Bruce) of West Chester, PA., 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Marie Antus and Ann DeCesaris of Latrobe, PA.
A Mass in celebration of Mag's life was held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Holy Family
Church, Latrobe, PA. Interment
followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe, PA

SMITH – Donald Lee Smith Sr. of Lugoff, South Carolina, formally of St. Cloud, died Friday, January 25, 2008.
He retired from the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and a Purple Heart.
Mr. Smith retired from the Florida Flood Control. He enjoyed working in the Church, woodworking and motorcycle riding. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Lugoff and a past member of Bible Baptist Church, Kissimmee.
 Surviving are his children Ronald Smith of St. Cloud, Donald Smith Jr, and his wife  Margaret A. “Maggie” of St. Cloud, Donna  Sanborn and her husband Gene of Salina, KS.;  fiance Barbara Rabon of Lugoff, SC.; brothers Bob Smith of St. Cloud, Eugene Smith of Great Falls, MT, sister Betty O’Neal of Davenport. Fl; 19 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
 Funeral service for Mr. Smith was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2008; at The Bible Baptist Church in Kissimmee, with Pastor Jimmy McNeil officiating. The family received friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., at Fisk Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Internment was at Mount Peace Cemetery with full Military Honors.

STEPLER – Rev. Boyd D. (Dallas) Stepler, 93, Osceola County, passed away at 5:30 p.m, Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Plantation Bay Rehabilitation Center in St. Cloud, Florida. A native of Indiana, and a direct descendent of Dr. Albert Schweitzer, he was born in Decatur to the late Daniel E. and Ida M. (Reichenbach) Stepler.
In September, 1938, he married Frieda Inniger, Berne, a secretary and seamstress, who preceded him in death in 1986. Also preceding were an infant daughter Tracey, his brother, Freeman Stepler, and sister-in-law, Ethel (Worthman), of Decatur.
He is survived by his second wife, Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Stepler, 93; two daughters, Ms. Sandra K. Stepler Hajtovik, of Florida, and Mrs. Lynne (Larry) R. Plew, St. Cloud; three grandchildren,, Robert D. Hajtovik and Mrs. Donna (Robert) M. Chung, both of Florida, and Mrs. Tara (Jason) Y. Rohter, Orlando; two nieces and a nephew, all of Indiana; three step-children, three step-grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren.
Prior to his ordination into the United Church of Christ in 1957, he owned/operated a commercial and Christmas tree farm, also driving schools, in Indiana; worked with Purdue University and DeKalb Company, on a joint hybrid field corn project; and served as Adams County agent, under the Indiana Department of Agriculture. He also tuned pianos, tested soil for farmers in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio; and repaired tires.
A 3:00 p.m. private memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at the St. Cloud Presbyterian Church, with The Rev. Bert Lawrence, a retired UCC clergy and closefriend of Rev. Stepler present the funeral address, and The Rev. Steven Graves offitiating. Burial will be in the springtime at St. Luke’s Church Cemetery, Honduras, Indiana. Memorials are to be sent to: The Christmas Fund, Boyd D. Stepler Account, The Pension Boards UCC, 475 Riverside Drive, Rm. 1020, New York, N. Y. 10115. (The Fund provides support to retired UCC ministers.)
