Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies are assisting the Hoboken (New Jersey) Police Department in the search for Emily J. Grace. 

At approximately 1 p.m. Aug. 26, the Sheriff's Office was contacted by Hoboken police in reference to a missing person. According to the Hoboken police, Grace was last seen in the area of Fort Lauderdale, but might possibly be in the Celebration area of Osceola County. Sheriff's deputies notified the surrounding counties and began a search for Grace.

A 47-year-old St. Cloud man, who allegedly made several bomb threat calls to the St. Cloud Walmart as well as other false reports through the 911 emergency number, has been arrested.

John E. Lawrence faces charges of making bomb threats and multiple counts of filing false reports.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 27 conducted a safety and DUI sobriety checkpoint from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and during the period deputies checked 1,522 cars, resulting in 356 violations, 273 citations and 23 arrests.

Of the 23 arrests, nine were for driving under the influence and the other arrests were for outstanding warrants, traffic and drug charges.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives Aug. 25 arrested 23-year-old Kristian Leigh Poitras, of 2750 1st St., St. Cloud, and charged him with 50 counts of capital sexual battery.

The investigation began in mid-July when deputies took a report of possible sexual abuse from the 8-year-old victim’s father.

Twin brothers accused of burglarizing cars at a nudist resort near Poinciana were jailed Tuesday.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Daniel and Christian Robles, 21, of Orlando, with numerous car burglaries at the Cypress Cove resort.

A fifth suspect linked to a rash of Osceola County burglaries and identity theft cases was recently nabbed by authorities.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Chevonne Crystal White, 17, of Poinciana, with principal fraud use of credit card and conspiracy to commit identity theft. She was booked into the Osceola County Juvenile Detention Center.
