The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Virginia State Police Northern Virginia/DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force are seeking the public’s help for information about Jason Robert Fragale, 38, of Kissimmee, and Leesburg, Va. Fragale was arrested on Jan. 20 at the Orlando International Airport and extradited to Virginia on Feb. 7, according to Virginia State Police.

Fragale is believed to have contacted juveniles through messaging apps like Kik, and he may have victims in Florida. Fragale has a residence in Kissimmee and has ties to “The Crimson All-Star Cheerleading Club.” The company is both registered in Florida and Virginia.

School District names Celebration Foundation as Partner of the Year The Osceola School District has named Celebration Foundation as its 2024 Partner of the Year. The award recognizes the valuable contributions of business and civic involvement in public education that directly supports and enhances student success. Per the School District, its support of students includes: Since 2017, Celebration Foundation has supplied items for food pantries in schools across the Celebration, Kissimmee, and Poinciana areas through their Learning Without Hunger initiative; When the Bookmark Buddies program, which pairs community volunteers with third graders to help them strengthen their literacy skills in preparation for state reading assessments, experienced budget cuts in 2021, Celebration Foundation was adamant about reinstating it and donated $5,000 for materials, and recruited volunteers to keep it going; Created Medical Career Pipeline and Campus Express field trips for 1,000 students each year to a local hospital to participate in activities like learning CPR basics and to exploring the wide range of high-wage and high-demand medical field careers; Provided students with a Valencia campus tour that fostered plans after high school, along with WINGS, which hosted power lunches at schools to empower young women in leadership skills; And funded college scholarships for graduating seniors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to community service.

LYNX accepting applications for Public Service Bus Contest The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) has opened the application period for Central Florida non-profits to have their logos displayed on a public service bus as it travels routes every day throughout Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

Eight qualified agencies will be chosen in a random drawing to have their logo displayed for one year, LYNX said Monday. To be eligible, the 501(c)(3) non-profits based in Orange, Osceola or Seminole County must operate on a budget of less than $1.5 million.

The deadline to enter will be 5 p.m. May 24. Winners will be drawn randomly and announced during the first week of June, and the unveiling of the 2024-25 Public Service Bus will be held at the Osceola County Administration Building at 10 a.m. June 20.
