As part of the Veterans Affairs (VA) nationwide “PACT Act Week of Action”—the Orlando VA within the Lake Nona medical district will be holding an in-person town hall Dec. 17 to provide information on what this historic law could mean for Veterans and their family members suffering from toxic exposure, due to burn pits and other sources.

The Saturday town hall will run from 10 a.m. to noon at 13800 Veterans Way in Orlando.

The recently passed PACT Act makes veterans suffering from some medical conditions, diseases, and cancers automatically eligible for treatment and benefits for having served in Iraq, Afghanistan and other locations in Africa, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia. Survivors of toxic-exposed-Veterans are also potentially eligible.

At the town hall, veterans and survivors in attendance can get help enrolling in VA health care or applying for VA benefits. Please bring any paperwork like DD214 forms or other military paperwork that can help establish service in those locations.

There is also a town hall at the VA Lake Baldwin/ Raymond Street Clinic (the “Old” VA Hospital site) on Dec. 15 during the same hours.
