Here’s an excuse to treat ourselves Saturday — a $3 movie ticket.
In honor of National Cinema Day on Sept. 3, all AMC, Cinemark and Regal locations and the local EPIC chain, will offer $3 movie tickets. Osceola Residents are lucky to have Regal at The Loop in the county to make the event worthwhile, as well as AMC Disney Springs, Cinemark at CityWalk, and Cinemark off International Drive who want to venture a little farther.
Non-profit The Cinema Foundation’is helping fans celebrate by having 3,000 theaters across the country slash prices to 1980s-era levels.
"After this summer’s record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing," said Jackie Brenneman, Cinema Foundation president, in a statement. "We’re doing it by offering a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers that made this summer happen, and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven’t made it back yet."
Since Labor Day is typically a slower weekend for movie theaters, this offer will bring more moviegoers — many who have gotten out of the habit of going in-person for a show since the start of the pandemic — into the theaters. This discount is taking place in an estimated 3,000 theaters and on over 30,000 screens nationwide.
Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance, at box offices or via movie ticketing services like Fandango and Atom. (the $3 ticket price does not include any of their online convenience or transaction fees).
In addition to the discount ticket price, AMC theaters are offering discounts at the snack bar as, with a fountain drink and popcorn cameo combo available for $5 on Saturday. Cinemark is also offering medium drinks, candy and small popcorn for $3 each.
