Hopkins Heroes—doing good for the community is what they are all about. They are now accepting donations for their school uniform swap at their Back 2 School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 10. Hopkins Heroes is collecting gently used school items such as polos (any color), bottoms (tan, blue, black, jean) jackets/ sweaters (no pullovers), shoes, bookbags and school supplies for all ages.The donations will be accepted until Thursday, Aug. 8. The City of St. Cloud’s Independence Day Celebration, 4th on the Lake, takes place on Thursday, July 4 at St. Cloud Lakefront Park. The celebration starts at 5 p.m. and culminates with a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m.

Enjoy live music by the Derek Mack Band, kids’ zone, games and prizes and local businesses. The All-American Car show will take place from 5-8 p.m. The kid’s Bike Parade is at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage; those 12 and under can bring a decorated bike to the parade.

Today, Thursday, June 27 from 6-7 p.m. Camp iREAD presents Gatorland at the St. Cloud Library. Meet Florida’s most famous resident and watch as the American Alligator is brought into the room. The knowledgeable and entertaining Gator Wranglers from Gatorland will share stories of close encounters with some of these feared predators. Then get ready for your own encounter with an American Alligator.

Sewing in the Cloud happens on Friday, June 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Grab your machines and get sewing.

Then at 2 p.m. stay for Family Movie Matinee: Luca, rated PG will be shown. Enjoy and afternoon Library stars with camp cinema favorite and stay cozy with blankets and pillows brought from home.

Join Chair Yoga for Seniors and Beginners on Monday, July 1 from 10 -11 a.m. Support your mental, physical health. Comfortable clothing is recommended.

The Central Florida Business Networking Group meets at the Library on Tuesday, July 2 from 9-10:30 a.m. Share ideas and opportunities about attracting and retaining customers, networking and more.

Then, at 11 a.m., OUC presents Residential Energy Conservation. Representatives from OUC will discuss energy conservation efforts and money saving tips on how to lower your residential energy bill.

Two movies will be shown at the Library on July 2: Wonka (rated PG) will be shown from at 2 p.m., followed by Love and Monster (rated PG-13) at 4 p.m.

The St. Cloud Library is located at 810 13th St. All Library programs are free and open to the public.
