Prices on just about everything are going up, so to help keep your electricity bills at bay, Kissimmee Utility Authority has launched a new online energy assessment tool to help residents manage their energy bill -- just in time for the increased usage that comes with battling the summer heat in order to keep cool.
In order to better understand their electric consumption and summer fluctuations while discovering energy-saving ideas that are customized to their home, and simulate changes in their homes, KUA customers can access the tool customers at kua.com/selfaudit and enter information about their location to start the survey.
The tool asks about the size type of home or building in a customer's account, the type of windows, age of the air conditioner, presence of insulation and presence of an electric-using utility like a pool or hot tub. From there, customers are given energy-saving solutions and other cost-effective energy-saving measures. Through the tool, customers can make an appointment with one of KUA’s certified Green Team energy auditors to survey a home’s windows, insulation, duct work, water heating, cooling and heating systems, and overall home efficiency.
“During the summer, Central Florida’s high temperatures and humidity can drive up electricity usage, leading to higher bills,” said Cindy Herrera, KUA’s interim Vice President of Customer Service. “This valuable tool will help customers take control of their energy use.”
