Public Services’ Lines Technician III Kyle Slaughter was named the city of St. Cloud Employee of the Month for December 2011.
Slaughter was recognized during a regular council meeting at City Hall Jan. 26.
Slaughter recently responded to routine service calls, but ended up assisting residents in ways that went above and beyond his regular duties, according to a city press release.
“During one service call, upon Kyle’s arrival, he found the customer struggling with a repair to a water line that the customer had located after he placed the initial call to the city,” Public Services’ Lines Division Crew Leader Garrett Stockdill, said. “Even though this particular repair was not within his realm of responsibility, he assisted the resident with helpful advice and time-saving tips, ensuring that the customer achieved an effective repair. During another service call, he confronted a meter leak that he also handled in a quick and efficient manner. Both residents contacted us to ensure Kyle’s professionalism was recognized. This type of customer service is exemplary and represents the type of service that the city provides to its customers.”
Slaughter has been a city employee for more than three years.
