A week early: APV’s July 4th Celebration on June 29

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) presents Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday, June 29 from 6-10 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Vance Harmon Park, 625 Country Club Dr. This is one of the community’s biggest events of the year.

This event features live music and performances, kid’s fun zone with face painting, ballon art, inflatables, food trucks, vendors, a 360-degree photo booth, DJ Johnny Tsunami and a fireworks show presented by PYROTECNICO. vendors and for those with disabled parking permit. All other event attendees should park at the APV activity campus (445 Marigold Ave.) APV will have a complementary shuttle service running every 20 minutes from 5-11 p.m. that will transport to and from the event.

It is not a rumor, but a fact—Poinciana is finally getting its own movie theater. Touchstar Luxury Cinemas has paid $3.4 million for approximately 9.5 acres of land as part of Phase 2 of the Poinciana Towne Center on Doverplum Avenue just north of Walmart.

A typical Touchstar Cinema boasts leather recliners and love seats for two with swinging tray tables. In addition to the basic popcorn, candy and soda, the Cinema will have a full bar and a menu with a variety of appetizers and entrees. Movie goers can order their food and it will be delivered to their seat.

Namaste! Chair Yoga for Seniors and Beginners will be held at the Poinciana Library on Friday, June 28 from 1011 a.m. Support your mental, physical and spiritual health and explore the benefits of chair-based exercise. Presented by AvMed. comfortable clothing is recommended.

Explore the world through activities and food while highlighting some of the world’s greatest architectural master pieces by attending International Festival. This adult only program happens on Saturday, June 29 from 2-4 p.m.

Adults can unlock their creativity on Tuesday, July 2 from 6-7 p.m. and paint a masterpiece. Paint Night is presented by local artist Dominique Jarrett. Registration is required. To register, go to https://osceolalibrary.libcal.com/event/12040206.

Enjoy an afternoon under the stars on Wednesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. Family Movie Matinee: Wish—is a story about a young girl who wishes on a star and gets more than she bargained for. Keep cozy with a blanket and pillow brought from home. This movie is rated PG.

The Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4 for Independence Day.

All Library programs are free and open to the public.
